When I painted a rock in kindergarten (paperweight for my Dad), I knew I was an artist! When I first walked into the “Book Mobile” that visited our school, I knew I loved picture books! When I played school with my younger sisters and brothers, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, (I am the oldest of five). And the first time I sold a piece of artwork, I knew it was all possible!

I have always loved creating things. Constructing something, whether it was sewing, painting, creating a mosaic or building with clay. My illustrations are constructed from clay pieces. Colors can be mixed and blended to create shading, texture and depth. All of my illustrations are built with either “Crayola Model Magic” or polymer clay. When each illustration is completed, it is titled and photographed.
 

My illustration work began in a small home office. Now I work in a nearby studio, LLH Designs. This has allowed me to work on larger projects, and more than one project at a time. Through LLH Designs I design logo art, and license artwork.

My illustration work has brought me into classrooms designing Artist Residency programs and working with students. As an Art Consultant for Binney & Smith, (makers of Crayola products) I have the opportunity to work with teachers, using the Crayola Dream-Makers program, conducting hands-on workshops integrating art into the core curriculum!
 

I am a member of the Graphics Artist Guild, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the Children’s Literature Connection, and the Albany/Schenectady League of Arts.

I live in Guilderland, New York with my husband John, our four awesome sons, John, Michael, Craig, Brian, our sheltie dog Casey and bunny Rascal.
